Smoking Policy

Milton Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe environment, free from the irritants caused by smoke.

Consistent with Joint Commission standards and other regulations, smoking or the use of other tobacco products is not allowed within the hospital facility or on the hospital campus except for in the new designated smoking area, effective August 1, 2009. The designated area is located in a sheltered and covered platform, on the lower lever of the parking deck. For directions, please visit our main security desk, adjacent to our Emergency Department.

The restriction on smoking is intended to reduce the risk of fire, reduce the risks to the patient associated with smoking including its possible adverse effects on the patient's treatment, and reduce the risk to other patients and staff associated with exposure to passive smoke.
