Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)...
Your Opportunity to Shape the Future of Community Healthcare
Community Information Session to be held
January 14, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Milton Hospital
Milton Hospital invites former patients or patient family members to attend a presentation about its newly-forming Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) on January 14, 6:00 p.m. at Milton Hospital.
A thriving hospital must welcome the opinions of its patients and their families in order to develop programs and practices that meet the needs of the community it serves.
Milton Hospital's patient-centered philosophy of care recognizes the importance of the patient's perspective. Through our Patient and Family Advisory Council, we hope to provide an ongoing forum to involve our community in shaping our hospital services.
 What is PFAC?
The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is a newly-forming committee, which will provide a voice to past patients of Milton Hospital or their family members. PFAC serves as a resource to hospital administration and staff. It promotes strong channels for communication and positive relationships between patients, their families and the hospital.
What Does PFAC Do?
Through regular meetings, PFAC advises the hospital on a wide variety of topics, including new clinical programs, quality improvement initiatives, patient education, safety, or countless other topics.
Members of PFAC also provide ongoing feedback to aid in establishing organizational
priorities, identifying patient service issues, and much more.
How Do I Get Involved?
This year, Milton Hospital will provide several opportunities to learn more about PFAC, from one-on-one information meetings to introductory orientations in a group setting. An ideal PFAC member is one who is committed to excellence in healthcare, is a good listener, and can share insightful feedback on a wide range of healthcare topics.
If you or someone you know would like to learn more about joining Milton Hospital's PFAC, please contact Eileen Beaulieu, RN, Risk/Patient Advocacy Manager at Milton Hospital, via email at Eileen_Beaulieu@miltonhospital.org, or by phone at 617-313-1360.
