Milton Hospital Names New Corporators at Annual Meeting Announces Profitable Fiscal '04
Milton, Mass. - Milton Hospital announced the appointment of the following individuals to the position of corporate members of the Milton Hospital Foundation, Inc.: Anne Collins, Anthony Cichello, Stan Lewis, M.D. Christopher Heavey, Christopher Keating Sr., Mario Marsano, Charles Tufts, Herbert Voigt and Mark Zeidel, M.D. The announcement took place at the annual meeting of the Milton Hospital Corporation on December 7 at Wollaston Golf Club.
Dr. Lewis and Dr. Zeidel, both of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, were appointed to the foundation as part of the recent affiliation agreement between the two hospitals.
Reporting on hospital progress during the past year, Hospital President Joseph Morrissey and Chairman of the Board Richard Ward both noted that a profit was turned for the first time since 1998, a significant accomplishment given the challenges facing most community hospitals. A major expansion project and the Beth Israel Deaconess affiliation are expected to further strengthen the hospital's quality of care.
Also at the meeting, W. Paul Needham and W. Craig Dolan, both of Milton, were honored for 25 years of service to the Milton Hospital Corporation. Both of the 25-year corporators received a plaque in appreciation for their service and commitment.
A member of the Milton Hospital Foundation, Inc., the parent corporation of Milton Hospital, is referred to as a "corporator." Corporators are elected by the board of directors. They serve as voting members of the parent and are responsible for promoting the mission of the hospital, especially in the areas of fundraising, community relations and volunteerism.
