Crocker Legacy Society Lays Groundwork for Tomorrow
While Honoring Hospital's Past
MILTON, MA - As steel beams begin to outline the shape of tomorrow's Milton Hospital, the hospital acknowledged its past with a reception to introduce the Seth C. Crocker, M.D. Legacy Society in November.
Named in honor of the longtime medical staff member and supporter of Milton Hospital, the legacy society recognizes friends of the Milton Hospital who have included the hospital in their estate planning.
The Crocker Legacy Society consists of those who have named Milton Hospital in their estate plans, or have orchestrated a planned gift for the hospital, such as a gift annuity, trust or other vehicle.
Nearly 50 attendees from all areas of the "Milton Hospital family" attended, including board members, physicians, hospital staff and Crocker family members to remember Dr. Crocker's contributions to the hospital. Remarks from Fund Development Board member Mark Hodgman, M.D. and longtime medical staff member Manfred Ernesti, M.D., recounted tales of Dr. Crocker's commitment to Milton Hospital, encouragement of young physicians new to the medical field, and his sincere and humorous personality.
The Crocker family displayed several photo collages, letters and other Milton Hospital artifacts that told the story of Dr. Crocker's 40-year history here, and offered interested glimpses into the medical field and Milton Hospital in decades past.
A medical staff member from 1950 to 1990, Dr. Crocker served at various times as president of the medical staff, secretary/treasurer of the medical staff and chief of medicine. He was beloved and respected by hospital staff, his colleagues and his patients. A captain in the Army Medical
Corps during World War II, Dr. Crocker was also very active in the American Red Cross.
