Milton Hospital Appoints Quality Management Director Milton, Mass. - Milton Hospital has appointed Judy Barrett, RN, MS, as its Director of Quality Management. Barrett will develop, oversee, and implement hospital-wide quality improvement, performance improvement, risk management, and infection control programs. Barrett brings 27 years of experience in health care management. Her professional focus has been to improve patient safety and reduce medical errors. Most recently a director at Dynamics Research Corporation in Andover, she developed and monitored all process improvement efforts and helped create an educational curriculum that addressed issues such as teamwork and communication skills. Barrett has also held positions at Youville LifeCare, Inc. in Cambridge, with responsibilities covering risk management, compliance, cardio-pulmonary medicine and nurse management. She served as a Nurse Manager for eleven years at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Boston. She attained her master's degree in nursing administration at University of Massachusetts, Worcester and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Boston. She has presented her research as a lecturer, panelist and college faculty member throughout her career, and has been published in medical journals and other publications.
