Remembering Jay
The Milton Hospital Family is saddened by the loss of our Chief Financial Officer, Jay Holleran, who passed away on June 26. Jay joined Milton Hospital as CFO in 2004 and his positive influence on the hospital will be felt for years to come. We will truly miss his unwavering leadership, his kindness and his endearing humor. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Holleran Family.

Jay was truly my best friend here at Milton. He helped me through so many things over the past 5 years, if it was not for him don't know how I would have made it through. He cared about people and our families. When he found out Danielle was going into the Army, he was the one that told me to "let her go Chris and spread her wings", be proud of her. He loved his family so very much. The stories that he would tell us about his girls, be it funny or about sports or anything that made him laugh. He was so proud of each one of them. He always said Tessa was like Andrea and Jamie was so him, and listening to the stories I think he may have been right.
Andrea, know that Jay touched many hearts here at Milton and he will live on here through all that knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Keep your memories of him close and he will never leave you.
Love, Chris
By now I still do not believe that he was leaving us to other world. I wish him rest in peace. We have been friend with him and his family for so many years. He was a happy man. He was always proud of his wife and his two daughters. We enjoyed the time we spent together with them. We missed him so much and will remember him forever.

Jay's spirit, intelligence, intensity, humor and passion will be missed by all. I respected Jay for all these qualities and will miss having him here to challenge, teach, support and care for all of us. I use to smile when Chris would go into Joe's office to let him know the "kids were fighting" (Jay and I would be having a spirited discussion) and Joe would say, "Let them". Jay loved to have a good "discussion". One of the things I will remember most and respect Jay for was his love for his family. Jay would light up a room when he talked about Andrea, Tess and Jamie. Jay cherished his family and the time he spent with them. Jay shared so many stories about them with pride and love. Jay always had a smile on his face when he would tell us that he had to go shopping "for cereal", you knew Andrea was going to be away and he was going to "cook" for the girls. I remember the speed at which he would run out of the office to get to a school event or sporting event for Tess and Jamie. I can still hear the pride in his voice when he would speak of the girls accomplishments, soccer, science fairs, etc... We all would laughter when Jay would share stories of being a big kid himself and having fun with the girls and how Andrea really had three kids to keep in line. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and I hope the love and memories he made while he was here will help to carry those left behind forward. His spirit and memories will go on and I know he will be looking down with love on his extended family. Cindy
On behalf of everyone here in the MRI Department we would like to express our condolences to Jay's Family and friends. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jay's family.

After a short 2 month start at Milton Hospital, Jerry and I attended the Holiday party. Having worked in 5 other healthcare facilities, we knew it would be pleasant but somewhat boring….
Well, Jay certainly changed that in short order. His singing, humor and personality shone like a beacon!!! NEVER, had I ever met a “money man” who had such a zest for life and a willingness to let others laugh with him or at him.
In the months that followed, I always wanted to be in his company. I didn’t have as much of an opportunity as I would have liked but Jay’s face was enough to make me smile.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and even by those of us who didn’t know him for very long…
Please know that I will think of him and his family often…His passing is a great loss to all of us.

Jay touched and changed many lives. He was our Financial Man who kept us all in line. I can remember when Jay first came here to work and we would sit in meetings with the Accounting area and Joanne and myself would be going back and forth about something and he would sit back and say "someone get me the popcorn", "the show is about to start" We could always keep him entertained.
But first and foremost, he was a family man. He adored his wife and girls, and lets not forget the stories about "Lucy the dog". I remember one Christmas, Jay telling us how Lucy kept taking one of the wise men from the Manger and hiding it.(Now just image Jay's facial expression during this).
The look on his face when he was telling us something about the girls will always be remembered, " The proud Dad".
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. He will be greatly missed by his other family at Milton Hospital.

During our rounding meetings with him, he always listened intently about our concerns and suggestions.
We will truly miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jay's family and friends.

Just wanted to take time to honor Jay's life. His contribution to the current financial turn around here at Milton Hospital is greatly appreciated. I commend his love of living and his passion for excelling. Though he had an unwavering commitment to his job, he balanced it with a devotion to his wife and children. He spoke fondly and dearly of them often. One knew that they held a special place in his heart by how he shared about them. I am sure that the last months of Jay's life were a challenge but I never once heard him complain of the hand that life dealt him. He gave everything that he had to the very end. He will be missed. May God provide strength and comfort to his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
Best Regards,
Serena
Peace and blessings to Jay's family and to his 'family' at Milton Hospital. Ginny
Jay was smart, visionary, funny, loyal, passionate, sincere and loved his families. Anyone who spent time with him knew his beloved Andrea, Tess, and Jamie were his center compass. I was lucky to be part of his Milton Hospital family. Like any family, we had our little conflicts. I remember one time Jay had made a decision which Gail and I did not agree with. We peppered him with arguments and stats to support our position. He surprised us by reversing his decision. Later, he would laugh about it and claimed he had to do it because we "had ganged up on him for the beat down". It is this generosity in valuing other opinions that made Jay an exceptional CFO. Jay was a very special man and my life is richer for having known him. I will miss him and always hold his memories most dear.

To Andrea Holleran and family,
I am saddened to hear the news of Mr. Jay Holleran's passing. He has given us here at Milton Hospital a great example of courage and equanimity. Despite the challenges he took every moment as a gift and was so proud of all of you.
Will be praying for you in these hard moments. God bless. Carmel Kelly
I was shocked and sorry to hear of Jay’s passing. I knew Jay professionally for many years. Not only did he play an important role at Milton Hospital, over the years he was a respected leader among the state’s hospital financial professionals, someone many of us consulted for his guidance and opinions on financial issues and developments. Jay always gave a straight answer in a thoughtful and considerate way—no games. He was a valuable member of MHA’s Standing Committee on Finance and frequently led off discussions with his insights into issues of the day. We’ll all miss him and our thoughts and prayers go out to Andrea and his family.

I was very saddened to hear of Jay's passing. I had come to know Jay very well over over the past 5 years. We both shared a passion for health care information technology and worked together on a project to advance technology at hospital.
I remember clearly the day Jay broke the news of his illness. The condition he had was unfortunately the worse case scenario where survival is measured in months.
Despite this terrible predicament, Jay continued to work with great dedication on the project. I never detected any dampening of his of enthusiasm. His vision remained steadfast
Jay impressed me with the consideration he showed towards others. He did not let his illness keep him from helping others.
During his last days, I remember while he was gravely ill in the hospital, he still found time to email a prospective job candidate, letting her know the status of her application and even took the extra step to advance her application to the next level.
Jay demonstrated the traits of people who achieve great things. Although fate did not not allow him to complete his work, he has given us inspiration to continue on the path that he set.
The many lessons he taught us, his sense of bravery and his resoluteness in the face of a tragic illness, and his kindness towards others, will always be with us, and guiding us throughout our lives. For this, we will always be ever grateful.
I'll miss you, Jay.
