Finding a Primary Care Physician
A primary care physician cares for your overall health. He or she is at the center of your health and well-being and can help you with an annual physical, schedule tests or discuss a particular problem you may have. If he or she feels you need specialty care you will be referred to a specialist for your health issue. You can review a list of primary care physicians by selecting "Internal Medicine" from the list above.
Finding a Specialist
A specialty physician cares for a particular disease or condition. In most cases, insurance providers require you to have a referral or written authorization from your primary care physician in order to have an appointment with a specialist. |
